Memorial Day Weekend

The library will be closed Saturday, May 26, through Monday, May 28 for Memorial Day. We will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29.

As a reminder, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend we’ll remain closed on Saturdays.

Upcoming changes in our holiday schedule

The library will be closed Wednesday, July 4 for Independence Day and remain closed through Sunday, July 8 for budgetary reasons.

We will also now be closed on Columbus Day, Election Day, and Veteran’s Day. Beginning in 2013, we will also be closed on Martin Luther King Day and President’s Day.

At the present time, our complete list of holidays for the rest of 2012 is as follows (but subject to change):

May 26 – May 28 Memorial Day
July 4 – July 8 Independence Day
September 1 – 3 Labor Day
October 8 Columbus Day
November 6 Election Day
November 12 Veterans Day
November 22 – November 25 Thanksgiving

Holiday hours

The library will be closed for Good Friday and Easter on Friday, April 6 through Sunday, April 8. We will reopen at 12 noon on Monday, April 9.

Library hours to be reduced starting next week

Library hours will be reduced beginning on Monday, April 9. We will no longer be open Tuesday evenings, and will close at 8 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We will remain open on Saturdays until May 19, after which we will be closed on Saturdays through the summer. At this time it is anticipated that Saturday hours will restart on September 8.

The new hours are:

Monday – Noon to 8 p.m.
Tuesday – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday – 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday – 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (through May 19)

Further changes may occur, so please watch for announcements here and on our main website at www.gcpl.us.

Holiday Hours

The library will close at noon on Friday, December 23 and remain closed through Monday, December 26. We will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27.

We will also be closed on Saturday, December 31 and Monday, January 2.

Thanksgiving Weekend Hours

The library will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving from 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23 until noon on Monday, November 28.

Labor Day Weekend Closing

We will be closed from 5 p.m. on Friday, September 2 until 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6. Have a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend!

 

Summer and holiday hours

Summer hours at the library have begun, which means we are closed on Saturdays until September. Our first open Saturday in the fall should be September 10.

The library will also be closed on Monday, July 4, for Independence Day.  We will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5.
