Wii Write @ the Library

The next “Wii Write” program will be held at the Gloucester City Library on Thursday, December 10 from 6:30 p.m. until about 8 p.m.

The program is for students in grades 4-8. No advance sign-up is required. Take part in a fun writing project, have free refreshments and play with the Wii.

The new circuit videos have arrived

The new group of circuit videos has arrived! This group will be available in December 2009 and January 2010. Here’s your chance to see Jackie Chan in The Accidental Spy, Tim Allen in Santa Clause 2, and many more titles that aren’t available in our permanent video collection.

Shows start at 3:45 p.m. each Tuesday afternoon. You must have a ticket to enter the room. Free tickets will be handed out starting at 3:30. Shows last approximately 90 minutes. Snacks and drinks allowed. Bring your own or have some popcorn!

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

The library will close for the Thanksgiving weekend at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 and reopen at noon on Monday, November 30, 2009.

Wii Bowling for Seniors

The next Wii Bowling for Seniors will be held at the library on Friday, November 20 from 12:00 noon until about 2 p.m. Refreshments provided, no sign-up necessary. We will also try out some Carnival Games.

Win a scary (but fun) book for Halloween!

Just check out something spooky, creepy or gross from our children’s section (fiction or non-fiction) and fill out an entry form. (You must be 18 years old or younger to enter.) The winners will be picked on October 30.

Prize #1 is the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl Pop-up Pirate Ship book. (Recommended for under age 12, but if you are over 12 and would prefer it, make a note on your entry form.)

Prize #2 is The Reformed Vampire Support Group by Catherine Jinks. (Recommended for age 12 and older, but again, if you are under 12 and would prefer it, make a note on your entry form.)
